WHY REINVENT THE WHEEL OF BLANDNESS
I WASTED MY MONEY AND TIME. I MADE THE BBQ PORK RIBS AND BAKED BEANS. THEY WERE EXTREMELY BLAND. THE AUTHOR MUST BE A NURSING HOME COOK. ONLY AFTER MIXING IN A WHOLE BOTTLE OF KC MASTERPIECE BBQ SAUCE AND WARMING THIS MESS UP AGAIN WERE THEY PALATABLE! IN WAY LESS TIME THAT IT TOOK TO SHOP FOR INGEDIENTS, PREPARE THE BLAND TASTELESS BBQ SAUCE AND THE BLAND BAKED BEANS, I COULD HAVE OPENED A CAN OF BUSHES' BBQ BAKED BEANS AND POURED A BOTTLE OF KC MASTERPIECE BBQ SAUCE OVER THE RIBS, THEN NUKED THEM AND HAD A TASTY MEAL. MY QUESTION IS, WHY GO TO THE TROUBLE, TIME AND EXPENSE TO CREATE A BLAND RECIPE WHEN THERE ARE ALREADY PLENTY OF TASTY BBQ BEANS IN A CAN AND BBQ SAUCES ON THE GROCERY SHELVES? WE DON'T NEED MORE LOW FAT NO TASTE BLAND RECIPIES. I PUT THE BOOK IN THE WHITE ELEPHANTBOX TO GIVE FOR A GAG GIFT!

Sounds stupid, but actually OK
My 12 year old son picked up this book and it's not all that it promises to be. I've certainly bought worse cookbooks! It's clear cut, concise and easily followed. The pictures of the canned items are actually a very ingenious idea.

Microwave Gourmet
This book is filled with ways to cook in your microwave, things I would not have thought could be done. It is an especially good book for beginning cooks, and I would highly recomend it for a wedding present.

A Good Introduction
This book provides a good introduction to Microwave cooking techniques and it gives several useeful tips on selecting and buying Microwave Cookware.The only drawback are the recipes included.Several of them are too gourmet and they should put more emphasis onn basic and popular dishes.However, I have found about seven dishes which I will prepare.There should also be more emphasis placed on dishes and cooking for the Single person.

Don't cook in the microwave without this book.Transversely, if you don't have this cookbook, then you will miss out on many wonderful things you CAN cook in the microwave with superior results.Don't be fooled, the finished product will be truly delicious. excellent value
After receiving the authors' monthly e-newsletter for over a year, I decided to purchase the book. I have not been disappointed! It's well laid out, lots of useful information and the recipes are easy to make. My only comment is that the recipes tend to use a lot of packaged foods - pre-chopped, that kind of thing. It's easy to substitute those things for do-it-yourself chopping. But the recipes are healthy and yummy. I made the Banana Blueberry Pancakes this morning and thought they were fantastic. I would highly recommend this book.

Get this book, you wont be sorry.
This book was listed in my recommendations on Amazon.I almost never buy books without looking at them first...and definitely not cookbooks.So I checked this out from my library and have prepared 9 of the recipes so far.Only one was a thumbs down from my family.I'm going to purchase this one because it is one I want to own.The recipes don't call for a lot of ingredients and don't take a lot of time to prepare.

Simply Exquisite
Once again Marilyn Tausend does not disappoint!I own the Spanish edition of this book and have given the English edition to friends visiting Mexico and wanted a "real authentic Mexican cuisine" cookbook.She does a great job on explaining the traditions and festivities that go hand-in-hand with a lot of foods in Mexico.The Christmas punch is a family favorite served annually at our Posadas and Christmas meals.(Recipe tip:remove the seeds from the Guavaba fruit before adding to the punch.)
Marilyn Tausend Rocks!
This book is a wonderful followup to her collaborative work "Mexico The Beautiful". I was afraid that many of the wonderfully authentic recipes from her other books might be duplicated here, but that's not the case. As usual, she's managed to come up with very authentic recipes (I have lived in Mexico for many years now and have studied the cuisines) that I had been hoping to find, such as Quail in Rose Petal Sauce of "Like Water For Chocolate" fame, Cream of Chile Poblano, and Torta Azteca, among others. The instructions are easy to understand, the photography is brilliant, the ingredients are relatively easy to find and Ms. Tausend again did her research right because these recipes taste like the real thing! This is not another taco/enchilada/burrito cookbook, there are many truly fascinating and hard-to-find dishes in this book. I'm so glad I bought it! If you're looking for another great Mexican cooking aid, this is the one to get after Mexico the Beautiful!

Quick and Easy!
Love this cookbook!I have had one for years and purchased this as a gift for a friend with four small children and not a lot of time to make dinner!We both love it!It is quick and easy, just like title says.Most of the ingredients are what you would have stocked in your pantry anyway.

Microwave Cooking for One by Marie T. Smith
This book has not been updated for the new microwave ovens of today. Although the recipes are satisfactory the cooking times can't be used. The food would be cooked into a brick. Needless to say, this book should be rewritten.

Not at all what I expected.
I found 2 recipes in this entire book that are quick, easy-to-do recipes. If you're looking for fancy dishes you can make in the microwave, this is for you, not for the college kid looking for something simple.

A must-have cookbook for anyone who like Indian food
I received this cookbook as a gift from a friend who had served me several delicious meals from it.I had the book probably two years before I was brave enough to try using it but once I did haven't stopped.The recipes are well written, easy to follow, and delicious;they keep, store and reheat well.Julie Sahni really demystifies the spices, ingredients and cooking methods.My copy of this book is falling apart, I've used it so much.I can't praise this book highly enough.

A Must-Have Book
I've made many a dish using Easy Livin'Microwave Cooking and it is a real "gem".I usually prepare meals for two, but many times make the full 4 serving recipe.My wife and I are both trying to loose weight and the ability to make great-tasting, quick meals has been a real bonus.I hasten to add, we are loosing that weight! This book is a must for any home that has a microwave oven!
Good book, but needs to be updated
This book is a wealth of information, but it desperately needs an update. It was published nearly 15 years ago, when the most powerful microwave was 700 watts. Now with 1000, 1100, and even 1200 watt microwaves being thenorm, her recipes all need to be adjusted and updated. Also, there are awhole slew of new utensils- like browning dishes - that could beaddressed.

Please re-release this book!
My mother has this cookbook and uses it all the time. I wanted to get a copy for myself since she's in California and I'm in New York, and was very disappointed to discover that it's out of print. As the other reviewersaid, hopefully they'll put out a new version soon.

This is the best microwave cookbook. You search pictures to decide what meals to cook. They are categorized by time, so on workdays you can pick meals that take less time to cook.
